Vijayan’s Cabinet makes over 150 foreign trips in four years

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his cabinet ministers have collectively made more than 150 foreign trips over the past four years, according to data obtained through a Right to Information request.

These trips, spanning across 27 countries, show a significant increase compared to the previous cabinet's overseas travel. The figures reflect a shift towards a more expansive international presence, with the current administration far outpacing its predecessors in terms of global outreach.

Between 2016 and 2021, foreign tours by the Chief Minister and his ministers totalled 87, as documented in the Kerala Legislative Assembly. The period of 202-0-2021 saw a notable decline in overseas travel, a consequence of the global pandemic and resulting travel restrictions.However , with the easing of COVID-19-related constraints, the frequency of international trips has surged in the present term.
