Police in Satara district have busted an obscene party at a private bungalow named Varsha Villa near Mahabaleshwar, where bar dancers were allegedly performing vulgar dances under the guise of “singers” and “female waiters”.

- Rambhau Jagtap

The raid was conducted by the Panchgani Police in the early hours of Monday.

According to police, the dancers performed provocative moves in revealing clothes before a group of customers, creating what officers described as “an obscene and indecent environment”. Six people, including the bungalow owner, have been booked in the case.

Officials said police seized items worth Rs18.8 lakh during the operation, including sound and lighting systems, mobile phones, a DVR and a car. The incident has caused a major stir in the Mahabaleshwar-Panchgani tourist belt, popularly known as the “Kashmir of Maharashtra”.
