PCMC publishes final ward plan for elections

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Monday evening released the final ward structure for the upcoming civic elections following directions from the Maharashtra State Election Commission.

Objections raised in several wards were reviewed, with full acceptance in some and partial changes in others. The names of three wards have also been revised.

According to officials, objections from Ward No. | Chikhali, 6 Dhawde Wasti, 7 Gavhane Wasti, Bhosari Gaothan, and 12 Talawade Gaothan were fully accepted, while those from Wards No. 24 and 25 were partially considered. The PCMC elections will be conducted under the four-member ward system, similar to the 2017 polls, based on the 2011 Census when the city’s population was 17.27 lakh. The city now has 32 wards and 128 corporator seats.
