Why are the city's animals dying from preventable deaths? Veterinarians and animal rescuers sound the alarm as a surge of diseases and injuries plagues urban fauna and domestic animals

"Every house avails facilities of garbage collection from their doorsteps, yet the residents engage in disposing their waste on roads and open sites, becoming a feasting spot for animals. This needs to stop," said Dr K Pavan Achary, veterinarian from Sarvoham Animal Foundation. They see numerous dogs brought to them with cases of Parvo virus and many other severe diseases, which are the result of feeding on garbage.
