The man arrested for threatening former minister and late NCP leader Baba Siddique’s son Zeeshan Siddique also allegedly demanded Rs5 crore from cricketer Rinku Singh.

The accused, Mohammad Dilshad Naushad, had sent a threatening email to the cricketer’s event manager, claiming to be a member of gangster Dawood Ibranhim’s D-Company, and warned of dire consequences if his demands were not met.

In a first, the 33-year-old cyber extortionist was successfully extradited from Trinidad and Tobago. Originally a resident of Darbhanga in Bihar, Naushad earlier demanded Rsl0 crore from Zeeshan Siddique via a series of threatening emails. Based on a Lookout Circular (LOC) issued through Interpol, he was arrested upon his arrival at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.
