In a high-energy session on Telangana’s Olympic Quest, prominent sports personalities, policymakers, and experts from Hyderabad collectively emphasized that Telangana’s path to Olympic glory must begin at the grassroots—with stronger coaching systems, modern infrastructure, and a culture that keeps children actively engaged in sport.
Former India cricket captain and Cabinet Minister Mohammad Azharuddin underscored the importance of early talent identification driven by skill and commitment. “Grassroot encouragement is essential, but we must also evaluate skill realistically. Dedication, application, and hard work shape champions. Telangana’s new Sports Hub under the Future City vision is a major step forward—facilities we never had in our playing days,” he said.
Ultimate Table Tennis Chairperson Vita Dani praised the state's renewed focus on sports. “Success of an athlete is determined by the ecosystem around them. For India to aim at 2036, we must build systems that help athletes realise their dreams. Telangana’s leadership has given sports the importance it deserves at the right time,” she noted.
