Deputy CM directs integration of SHG with silk production drive

In Uttar Pradesh, women from self-help groups (SHGs) under the State Rural Livelihood Mission are set to enhance their incomes by becoming ‘Resham Sakhis’, trained silk cultivators linked with the Sericulture Department.
Acting on the directives of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, the state government is developing silk clusters and signing agreements to bring SHG members into silk production.
