Citizens urge for display boards on amenity plots

Citizens have urged the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to install detailed information boards at all amenity spaces across the city to promote transparency and public awareness regarding the use of public land. A written representation was submitted to the Municipal Commissioner by social activist Dilip Singh Vishwakarma, calling for urgent action.

Vishwakarma noted that land prices in Pune have reached unprecedented levels, creating opportunities for land mafias—allegedly with political backing—to encroach upon or illegally acquire government plots. He warned that if strict preventive measures were not taken, prime government lands reserved for public purposes could be lost to vested interests.
