Caste bias in judiciary alleged
The Free Press Journal - Mumbai
|November 29, 2025
VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan has accused the judiciary of succumbing to what he termed “Sanat-anisation’”, contending that recent patterns in appointments to the Madras High Court reveal a clear preference for lawyers with affiliations to the BJP or ideological ties to the RSS.
He described the possible exclusion of candidates from the Scheduled Caste community in the current list under consideration by the Collegium as a “grave injustice’ undermining social justice Thirumavalav an’s statement follows discussions around the composition of the bench of the High Court, where representation of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, minority communities and women has become a point of contention.
