The BMC team was met with opposition as it arrived to demolish and disconnect water and electricity supply of an ‘unsafe’ building on the premises of the heritage-listed Salvation Army territorial headquarters in Byculla.
A standoff ensued as the church activists converged at the spot last week and stopped the team from taking action, asserting that the demolition notice was "illegal".
