Sunitha Dixon, the Vyttila councillor in Kochi, has made a significant political shift, leaving the Revolutionary Socialist Party to join the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The move comes as a pre-election blow to the United Democratic Front, with Dixon having been a member of the coalition in the Kochi Corporation. Her defection was formally announced by BJP State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar during a function held in Kochi on Saturday.
