Policeman gets assaulted; MLA criticises CM

Four men assaulted a constable on the Katraj— Kondhwa main road late Sunday night, raising serious concerns over the safety of law enforcement officers in the city.

The victim, identified as Praveen Ramesh Dimble (33), attached to the Bharati Vidyapeeth Traffic Division, sustained severe injuries and was admitted to Sassoon Hospital for treatment.

According to police, Dimble was returning home after duty when he stopped by the roadside to urinate. At that moment, a car pulled over nearby, and four men — who appeared to have been monitoring the area — conronted him. The altercation quickly turned violent, and the men began abusing and assaulting him. Despite Dimble being in uniform, the attackers continued the brutal beating.
