Local residents in Vagamon, Idukki district, woke to a devastating explosion between 5:30 am and 6:00 am on Friday, believing that an earthquake had struck.
The blast emanated from a structure built on a film set in the factory area and shattered windows across nearby homes, triggering chaos and alarm across the neighbourhood. It turned out the explosion was a staged scene being filmed for a movie starring Suresh Gopi.
