Woman Injected With HIV Over Dowry in UP

A disturbing incident has come to light in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman was injected with an HIV-infected needle by her in-laws after her family failed to meet their dowry demands.
The victim, a 30-year-old woman, was married in February 2023, and the horrifying attack took place in May 2024.
According to reports, the woman's in-laws demanded an additional Rs 10 lakh in cash and a larger SUV after the wedding, despite her family already giving Rs 15 lakh and a sub-compact SUV.
The woman was subjected to physical and mental abuse by her in-laws, who even threatened to marry another woman to their son.
