Can art stir the eco-warrior in us? Absolutely. Art possesses a unique ability to evoke deep emotions, sometimes comforting and at other times unsettling.
The recently launched Below2° installation at Karma Lakelands, a leading eco-resort in India, is an example of art's power to awaken urgency in the fight against climate change.
Conceptualized and executed by the Greener Earth Foundation, this thought-provoking piece serves as a visual and emotional call to action. At the heart of Below2° is a five-foot globe made from 1,000 repurposed golf balls, recovered from Karma Lakelands' water bodies. Each ball is hand-painted by schoolchildren, symbolizing the next generation that will inherit the planet. The globe highlights the critical 2°C threshold, beyond which climate change could spiral into irreversible devastation.
