Volcanic ash disrupts air travel: Air India cancels multiple flights

Air India has cancelled several flights over the past two days as it carries out precautionary checks on aircraft that may have flown through regions affected by volcanic ash from Ethiopia.

The disruption followed the eruption of the Hayli Gubbi volcano, which spewed a dense ash plume up to 45,000 feet that drifted northeast at 100-120 kmph and entered Indian airspace on Monday evening.
