After a remarkable nine-month stay aboard the International Space Station (ISS), NASA astronaut Sunita Williams and her crew are preparing for their journey back to Earth aboard SpaceX's Crew Dragon capsule.
The long-awaited return is being closely followed by millions worldwide, with a special sense of pride in India, where Williams' roots trace back to Gujarat.

In his message, PM Modi emphasized the pride of 1.4 billion Indians, expressing admiration for her contributions to space exploration. He wrote, "India is praying for your health and success."
This personal gesture by the Prime Minister highlights Williams' stature as a "daughter of India" and her status as a source of national pride.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh echoed similar sentiments, praising Williams for making the world proud with her accomplishments in space.
Williams, born in Ohio to Indian parents from Gujarat, has a legacy that has inspired countless individuals in India.
