The gurukul was peculiar in more ways than one can fathom. There were unheard-of rules, the strangest being that each disciple was given an opportunity to speak only two words and that too once every ten years.

That day, Aditya was excited and restless. After all, it was D-day for him. He had spent ten years at the monastery, and the day marked the completion of the tenth year. That meant he could exercise his right to speak for the first time. When the guru met Aditya and asked him to speak, Aditya said, 'Less food.' The guru organised extra food to be given to Aditya.
