Speculation surges in Jharkhand: Soren-BJP deal, Congress split

The Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand INDIA bloc government is likely to see fresh political realignments in the coming days.

Reports from Ranchi suggest the Soren government is in talks with the BJP to join the National Democratic Alliance. It is also being indicated that at least eight of the 16 Congress MLAs may switch sides and join a new political arrangement led jointly by Soren and the BJP.
If the realignment goes through, the BJP is expected to extend outside support rather than join the government.
