Saweety Boora-Deepak Hooda marital dispute turns uglier

The marital dispute between international boxer Saweety Boora and former Indian kabaddi team captain and BJP leader Deepak Hooda has escalated into a full-blown legal battle, with both filing cases against each other over assault, dowry harassment and financial fraud.

Now, Saweety Boora alleged that her husband harassed her for dowry, demanding a Mercedes worth Rs 2.5 crore just days before their wedding. She has also accused the Hisar police of not taking action on her complaint she had filed with Hisar police accusing her husband of dowry demand. On the other hand, she alleged she was being harassed by the police and made to sit for several hours for questioning over the complaint filed by her husband against her.

Talking to reporters, she alleged four days before her marriage Deepak had raised the demand of a Mercedes car of Rs 2.5 crore. When her father couldn't fulfil the demand, they settled for a Toyota Fortuner purchased on a bank loan by Saweety's father. Despite this, she claimed that Deepak and his family continued to mentally and physically torture her, forcing her to attempt suicide in 2022.
