Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to reach Purnea district in poll-bound Bihar on Monday to address a rally and inaugurate development projects worth Rs 36,000 crore.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a newly developed airport terminal at the north Bihar town, which would fulfil the region's long-standing demand for air connectivity and boost local economic prospects.
The announcement of assembly polls is expected to be made in the coming weeks, adding political significance to the visit.
Another major highlight of the trip will be the inauguration of the National Makhana Board, the setting up of which was announced in the Union Budget earlier this year.
