Op Sindoor reflected Lord Ram's values: Rajnath Singh
The Daily Guardian
|January 01, 2026
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday invoked the teachings of Lord Ram while speaking about Operation Sindoor, asserting that righteousness must never be compromised, even in times of war.
He said the Indian Army demonstrated restraint, discipline and moral conviction while taking firm and decisive action against terrorism.
Referring to Lord Ram's ideals of dharma, Singh said, “Even in warfare, dharma should never be abandoned. The Indian Army acted with both restraint and determination, carrying out precise and meaningful strikes to teach terrorists a lesson by targeting their hideouts.” His remarks highlighted India’s value-based approach to national security, rooted in ethical conduct even amid conflict.
He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for their leadership under the double-engine government, saying they have successfully blended spiritual revival with infrastructure-led development. The Defence Minister added that alongside the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya Dham, a magnificent temple is also being built at the birthplace of Maa Janaki in Punaura Dham.
