Independent cinema often produces films that carry the sincerity and urgency of one's own experience, and Nukkad Naatak is one such effort.
It is a thoughtful campus story that beautifully bridges privilege and purpose.Written & Directed by Tanma-ya Shekhar, an alumnus of IIT Kanpur, Nukkad Naatak stands out not only for its subject matter but also for its origins. It was made with the participation of students from IIT (ISM) Dhan-bad, where the film seamlessly blends campus life with grassroots storytelling, serving a fulfilling social purpose.
Shivang Rajpal and Molshri Singh are in the lead roles in this film, and they are supported by actors Nirmala Hajra and Danish Husain, alongside a large group of student artists from IIT-ISM. Several members of the institute's dramatic societies appear in supporting roles, lending the film an authentic collegiate atmosphere. With many students contributing both on screen and behind the camera, the relatively small production team reflects a collaborative spirit typical of independent cinema.
