Congress leader Navjot Kaur Sidhu was suspended from the party’s primary membership on Monday, a day after she attempted to clarify her controversial remark that “one who gives a suitcase of Rs 500 crore becomes the CM”.
The suspension order, issued by Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, took immediate effect, signalling the party's intent to contain the escalating political fallout.
