Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday personally welcomed United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the Delhi airport, underscoring the close ties and strategic partnership between India and the UAE.
The two leaders travelled together in the same car, sharing a warm embrace, with Modi calling Sheikh Mohamed his “brother” on social media, highlighting the personal rapport between them.
The visit, Sheikh Mohamed’s third official trip as UAE President and fifth to India in a decade, comes amid ongoing instability in West Asia, including tensions in Gaza, strained Iran-US relations, and the Yemen conflict. It also coincides with preparations by the US for Phase 2 of its Gaza Peace Plan.
