Karnataka Has Decided To Conduct New Caste Survey: Siddaramaiah

CM Siddaramaiah said it was 'unanimous decision' of state cabinet
Karnataka cabinet on Thursday unanimously decided to conduct a new Socio-Educational survey, popularly known as the caste census, in the state, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said.
He said 90-day time will be given for the Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission to conduct a fresh survey and submit the report, but did not wish to comment on the survey cost.
"...we have taken a decision in the cabinet. It was a unanimous decision that a new survey is to be conducted," Siddaramaiah told reporters after a special cabinet meeting.
He said, "The government will consult the Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission...we are going to give 90 days time to do a fresh survey, and to give the report."
