GST 2.0 Brings Festive Season Early for Car & Bike Buyers!
The Daily Guardian
|September 11, 2025
Almost all auto manufacturers have announced passing on full benefits of GST revision to their customers. We tell you about some of the prominent ones in this story.
The recent GST revision by the Indian government is being seen by all—except manufacturers and customers of motorcycles above 350 cc—as favourable primarily because almost all manufacturers have decided to pass on the revised GST benefits to their customers.
Therefore, in this story, I'll share what kind of savings you may expect if you're contemplating a car or bike purchase from the following manufacturers. Please also note that all prices mentioned in this story are ex-showroom.
YAMAHA
India Yamaha Motor (IYM) Pvt. Ltd. has announced that it will extend the complete benefits of the recent GST revision to its customers of its entire range of motorcycles and scooters. The revised rates will come into effect from 22 September, 2025 onwards.
The "potential" price reductions across Yamaha's two-wheeler portfolio, effective 22 September, 2025, are detailed below at the bottom of this page.
Yamaha is encouraging its customers to book early to take advantage of these benefits during the upcoming festive season.
If you're wondering about the absence of the YZF-R3 and MT-03 in the official price list, please don't worry as I have good news for you. I contacted Yamaha to check on both, and I was told that both twins will see an "up to 30,000 rupees" price cut. Therefore, the YZF-R3 could come down from Rs 3,59,000 to Rs 3,29,900 while the MT-03 could come down from Rs. 3,49,900 to Rs. 3,19,900.
BAJAJ
Bajaj has announced that it will also pass on the benefits of the new GST rates, applicable from September 22, 2025, to its customers of both Bajaj and KTM motorcycles. Of course, the over-350 cc motorcycles like the Dominar 400, Pulsar NS400Z, Duke 390, RC390, Adventure 390, and the CBUs will get expensive, but the 250s, 200s, and 160s will get more affordable.
