FROM AUTHOR TO MONK: A JOURNEY OF INNER AWAKENING

Q1. You've had an extraordinary journey from being an author to embracing monastic life. What inspired this profound transformation?

A. Life happened. Embittered by myself and the world, I sought shelter in the serene ashram nestled in the hills. There, the stars shone brighter than anywhere else — and the brightest of them all was my Guru, Om Swami. His brilliance, his knowledge, and his love for Lord Mahavishnu and the Divine Mother can transform even an atheist. Through his grace, I learned to worship the Divine with all my heart. Monastic life, for me, became not a rejection of the world, but a deeper embrace of the self.

Q2. As the foremost disciple of Om Swami, what are some of the most valuable lessons you've learned from him that continue to guide your spiritual path?

A. In Swamiji’s simplicity of speech, manner, and conduct lies the great secret of spiritual awakening. “The Divine is the only constant.” This truth has guided me through life’s ups and downs. Swamiji teaches that real strength lies in surrender and humility. He often says, “Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them — that only creates sorrow. Let things flow naturally forward. Live simply, love deeply, and let go.” These words are the compass of my spiritual journey.

Q3. You often speak about blending spirituality with modern living. How can today’s women incorporate spiritual wisdom into their fast-paced lives?
