DO SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES RESTRICT OR LIBERATE US?

Some welcome them as guiding signposts that help us progress and navigate life’s many challenges. Others dismiss them as restrictive rules that curb personal freedomand make life dull. Still others regard them with suspicion, viewing themas tools of control wielded by those in positions of authority.

However, if we consider the intent behind such teachings ~ they are meant to uplift souls by elevating the quality of their consciousness, and to guide them to the right path - we realise the benefit in them.

All souls are originally pure, peaceful, loving, and powerful. These qualities are intrinsic to our true identity, which is why all of us like to experience purity, peace, and love. It is when these are lacking, or denied to us, that we feel unease and sorrow. Spiritual teachings are not artificial ideas being imposed on human nature. They remind us of who we truly are, and serve as a compass directing us back to our original state of soul-consciousness.
