Delhi set to roll out fresh hydrogen fuel cell buses
The Daily Guardian
|May 29, 2026
The Delhi Government is preparing to operationalise hydrogen fuel cell buses in the national capital in collaboration with the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), NTPC and other stakeholders, as part of its green mobility push.
The move aims to introduce next-generation hydrogen fuel cell technology into Delhi's public transport system and strengthen the city’s shift towards low-emission, sustainable mobility.
According to officials, the initial deployment will be carried out in coordination with NTPC. The buses are proposed to operate under the Gross Cost Contract (GCC) model, with DTC facilitating operational deployment.
