This week, the ceasefire established between Israel and the Iran-supported militant organization Hezbollah in Lebanon. The announcement seems to be maintaining its effectiveness following its implementation on Wednesday, this week. President Biden declared the ceasefire agreement on Tuesday, noting that the US and France played a significant role in facilitating the negotiations. In Beirut, celebratory gunfire echoed through the streets as residents emerged to express their joy over the halt in hostilities, regardless of the duration of this peace.

However, while the global community was busy in assessing the potential implications of the recent ceasefire announcement, tensions have surged in Bangladesh following the detention of Iskcon priest Chinmoy Krishna Das.

In a collaborative statement issued subsequently, President Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron declared that "The announcement will put an end to the hostilities in Lebanon and protect Israel from the dangers posed by Hezbollah and other terrorist groups based in Lebanon." They further emphasized that this development would "establish the necessary conditions for enduring peace and enable residents on both sides of the Blue Line (Lebanon-Israel border) to return to their homes safely."
