Smart, tough, cosmopolitan, and undoubtedly one of the most influential figures in global finance during his seven years as governor of the Bank of England. His intellectual prowess, diplomatic tact, and liberal globalist worldview stood him out as a central banker, but what kind of prime minister can Canada expect?

From the moment he took over in 2013, he didn't shy away from establishing his intellectual dominance. His self-assurance was immediately apparent, and he made sure everyone knew he was, without a doubt, the smartest person in the room. When you add to this his strong work ethic and intellectual rigor, it is easy to see how Carney became a figure that inspired both respect and awe. For the likes of Donald Trump, however, this attitude could be a recipe for a stark clash of egos if the two ever meet.
