Even as Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on February 17, 2025 presented the State's annual Budget for 2025-26 with total outlay of Rs 2,90,000 crore, prioritising capital expenditure which is pegged at Rs 65,012 crore - 6.1 per cent of Gross State Domestic Product, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has cast apprehensions that the present BJP government in Odisha is pushing the state towards a form of political and economic doldrums and the day is not far that the state might end up in bankruptcy.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Odisha presented the State Budget for 2025-26 on February 17 with a total Budget size of Rs 2,90,000 crore.
The Budget document underlined the government's vision for 'Samruddha Odisha' by 2036, aiming to become a $500 billion economy.
