'Baseless' charges: ECI

The Election Commission on Thursday dubbed the claims of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of cheating in Karnataka during last year Lok Sabha polls as "baseless" and issued fiery responses to him wondering why such baseless and threatening allegations are being made against CEC when no appeal has been filed by the grand old party last year.
The Election Commission spokesperson in a fiery response referred to Rahul Gandhi's warning as unwarranted threatening statements made by Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha against CEC Gyanesh Kumar on Karnataka Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
The spokesperson said: "As far as electoral rolls of Karnataka Lok Sabha 2024 are concerned, not a single appeal was filed with DM or CEO of Karnataka, a valid legal remedy available to Congress under Section 24 of RP Act 1950.
