ASHA workers should be put on proper wages: Priyanka in Wayanad

She also highlighted the grievance of the workers and alleged that they did not get the amount due to them for five months.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is on a three-day visit to Wayanad, where she visited the Sree Seetha Devi Lava Kusa Temple in Pulpally.

Earlier in the day, Priyanka Gandhi met ASHA workers at the Grama Panchayat Community Hall in Sultan Bathery, Wayanad. She also inaugurated the 'One School, One Game' Project by Wayanad District Panchayath.

ASHA workers in Kerala are on an indefinite strike over several demands, including better pay and improved working conditions.

Earlier on March 21, Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) had staged a walkout for the second consecutive day over the government's handling of ASHA workers' demands.
