Ajit Pawar laid to rest with full state honours in Baramati

The last rites of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar were performed with full state honours at the Vidya Pratishthan ground in Baramati on Thursday, as the state bid farewell to one of its most influential political figures.
His sons lit the funeral pyre and performed the final rituals amid chants of “Ajit Dada Amar Rahe”.
Several senior leaders and dignitaries attended the funeral, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar, senior Congress leader Sushil Kumar Shinde with his daughter Praniti Shinde, and actor Riteish Deshmukh. Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra Pawar and sons Jay and Parth were present, along with other family members, including his nephew Rohit Pawar. A large crowd gathered at the venue, reflecting widespread public grief over his death.
Earlier in the day, Ajit Pawar’s mortal remains were brought to the Vidya Pratishthan ground with full state honours. Supporters lined the route as the cortege arrived for the funeral.
