Air India Faces $600 Million Blow From Pakistan Airspace Ban

In a letter dated April 27 to the Civil Aviation Ministry, the airline requested a "subsidy model" proportionate to the economic impact, estimating a potential annual loss of over Rs 50 billion ($591 million). The request follows Pakistan's decision to shut its airspace to Indian aircraft in retaliation for a recent attack on tourists in Kashmir.
