Walker aiming high after qualifying for world event

PENZANCE triathlete Katie Walker has been rewarded for her hard work and success by qualifying for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Marbella, this November.

The 25-year-old is a trainee accountant by trade, but spends her spare time training for endurance events and she recently represented the Great Britain age group team at the European Age Group middle distance championships in Pamplona, Spain.
“The race was a 1,900m swim, 85km bike and 21km run,” Walker said. “In this race | finished first overall non-elite female, taking the title as the European age group champion.
