NON-ALCOHOLIC: BUT IT STILL PACKS A PUNCH

- Thami Kwazi

Taste the nectar in this drink

Drinking change trends yearly. A while ago, gin had taken over bars all over the world, cocktails then became popular, after which sparkling wine became fashionable and the trendy started enjoying the celebratory drink daily and not reserving it for special occasions.

The current trend is non-alcoholic drinks that have the taste of alcoholic drinks but without the booze. Having successfully launched her sparkling wine named House of BNG, celebrity and business mogul Bonang Matheba has added a non-alcoholic drink to her popular local range.

"There's a large chunk of my fans who enjoy a good drink, but don't want the alcohol in it. And here we are, finally ready to share it and we hope people love it. I'm proud of it too because I wanted it to taste delicious", says Matheba, describing her new non-alcoholic House of BNG Nectar Rosé MCC.

Currently in development is the non-alcoholic, BNG Nectar Blanc, as well as premix cocktails and potentially gin and tonic. In Queen B's words: "It depends on where trends are going, but at the moment I'm researching premixed cocktails to see if we can give customers things they love," she says.

It will be added to her range for those who prefer a non-alcoholic palate, a concept she developed during Covid.
