MISSION: EXPLORING BEST PRACTICES IN EDUCATION
Insights gained into factors driving economic growth.
A South African delegation was recently on a 10-day benchmarking mission to China to strengthen the partnership between the two nations in education.
The mission, led by the department of higher education and training's executive leadership, the trade promotion of Brazil, Russia, India, China and SA (Brics) and consultancy firm Mthengenya and Associates aimed to explore best practices in vocational education and training (VET) driven by emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and 5G in China.
The mission visited academic institutions in four provinces, gaining insight into their unique strengths and specialisations driving China's economic growth.
