SIMPLE: BEAT ENGLAND AND SOUTH AFRICA WILL BE INTO THE SEMIFINALS

The scenario facing the Proteas is simple - beat England in their eir final pool match on Saturday and they're through to the Champions Trophy semifinals.

But whether they finish first or second in their group will depend on what happens in the other match, between Afghanistan and Australia, who play tomorrow.

Much also depended on what happened in yesterday's match between Afghanistan and England in Lahore.

That match was effectively a knockout game, with England being dumped out of the tournament in a nailbiting eight-run defeat, with the match against South Africa still to play.

Both sides had previously lost a match ahead of yesterday's encounter.
