EQUIPMENT: FILLY WILL BE FITTED WITH CHEEKPIECES AND SHOULD KEEP HER MIND ON THE JOB
Tomorrow's meeting at Turffontein features a 10-race card with a number of important races. The meeting includes the Listed WSB Aquanaut Handicap over 2400m as well as two events for three-year-olds, the Listed WSB Hawwaam Stakes for colts and geldings and the Non-Black Type Ormond Ferraris Oaks Trial for fillies, both over 2000m.
I have five carded rides on the day and I'll be hoping to be competitive.
We'll get straight into the day and Race 1 is a Maiden Juvenile Plate over 1000m and Catfish sets a really good standard as the only horse to have raced.
His winning turn is surely around the corner after a string of really good efforts and with the benefit of experience under his belt, I think he will be a hard horse to beat.
You will need to watch the betting and canter past for the best guide to the chances of the unraced horses.
Race 2 is a Maiden Juvenile Plate for fillies over 1000m and I ride Moonface who ran a decent race on debut. With any natural improvement, I'll be hoping to run into the money.
Love Not War was very green that day and beat me over four lengths and on that performance, she is the filly we all have to beat.
Elusive Dragon was just behind me that day and she is in a similar category to my filly in that, with any natural improvement, they should be in the money.
Once again watch the betting and canter past for the best guide to the chances of the unraced runners.
Race 3 is a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1000m and there are two extremely well-bred unraced horses so watch the betting for a guide because if they are above average, they will take all the beating.
Of the raced runners, I think Master’s Lady has found a good opportunity to get her first win under her belt and she is the filly I think they all have to beat.
Wings Of Kildra has run two decent races in her last two starts and looks to be the main danger.
