'BEST FOR MEN': FLOWERS THAT ARE MUSCULAR, ROBUST, PARED DOWN
The love of indoor plants as a décor or gift item seems to have become a woman's thing, but there are plenty of men who also have an affinity with plants.
In the green industry, for instance, men with green fingers may well outnumber women as they likely do in plant interest groups for orchids, clivia and bonsai.
Father's Day might be past but what about a plant for loving husbands, boyfriends, brothers and friends who could do with a little bit of a spoil?
What do men like?
Having checked out Google it appears men have clear preferences. In other words, nothing frilly or fussy but rather plants that are somewhat muscular, robust, pared down and with well-defined leaf shapes.
Such "masculine" plants add style to bachelor apartments, home offices, and the man cave, with the additional benefits of improving air quality, and helping to reduce stress and anxiety that comes with a pressured lifestyle.
The colour green is known for its calming properties and leafy indoor plants contribute to a relaxed and calm environment. Who doesn't need that?
