Hospital's security costs R70m a year

Security services at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital will cost more than R70 million a year for the next three years.

A three-year contract was signed at the beginning of this financial year; the Gauteng provincial legislature was told this week.

Gauteng health MEC Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko backed the expenditure, saying the security provided was value for money.
