NO SHORTAGE: 'REACHER', A SATIRE AND NEW REALITY SHOWS ROCK

- Hein Kaiser

Binge-worthy shows

Binge-watching is almost inevitable when it comes to streaming. That is, when there are great new shows available. Sometimes there's a drought of enticing watching and nobody wants to doom-scroll their devices to death. But it happens.

Fortunately, right now there are some excellent choices available across almost every platform.

Reacher on Amazon Prime is a skop, skiet 'n donner festival of note.

There are three seasons to popcorn-out on about the military veteran whose drifter-like civilian life always seems to land him or people he meets on his travels in trouble.

It's a super violent show and while Alan Ritchson's acting can sometimes be a bit wooden as Jack Reacher, the muscle of the show makes up for it. A lot.

Reacher is based on the book series by Lee Child, but don't expect much similarity between the series and its 2012 cinema predecessor with Tom Cruise as the veteran.

In many ways, the series is much better. Think the A-Team with a bit of Sylvester Stallone's eighties Rambo mixed in. It's an entertaining and super addictive watch.

It feels silly to even suggest this, but based on the performances of the country's strong spin bowling contingent, Keshav Maharaj's place in the national Test team might be in danger.
