THE hunt is on for a new senior boss who could oversee a controversial shakeup of North Tyneside's schools.

North Tyneside Council is set to appoint a new director of children’s services to replace Julie Firth, who will leave the top job at the end of the year.
It comes amid an outcry surrounding a series of possible school closures and mergers, which have sparked a backlash from parents.
The local authority recently revealed proposals to close Monkseaton Middle School.
