Review is welcomed by stalking victim's family

A MAJOR STEP FORWARD, SAY FAMILY OF ALICE RUGGLES
A REVIEW into stalking laws is to be led by the North East barrister that brought Alice Ruggles' murderer to justice.
The 24-year-old was killed by her obsessive ex Trimaan Dhillon, who slit her throat at her Gateshead home after embarking on a terrifying campaign of stalking when their relationship ended.
Since Alice's death in 2016, her parents have campaigned to raise awareness of stalking. And now Clive Ruggles and Sue Hills have welcomed the launch of a new independent review into stalking laws, which will be lead by Richard Wright KC, who brought Dhillon to justice.
The Government has said the review aims to ensure stalking victims get the protection they need and more offenders are brought to justice. Responding to the launch of the review Alice's parents said: "Our goal has always been to ensure that what happened to Alice never happens to anyone else.
