Landlord banned from renting out properties for two years

A LANDLORD from Gosforth has been banned from renting out properties due to his repeated failure to ensure minimum housing safety standards.

Durham County Council applied for a banning order, which has led to Kamran Adil, 54, being banned from operating for two years.

Adil, of Halterburn Close, cannot work as a landlord or managing agent at a lettings agency for this time period, following a ruling by the First Tier Property Tribunal. He also failed to comply with the local authority's Selective Licensing scheme.
