Johnston charge is a good Call

URGENT Call is bred to be a good bit better than his current rating so could have been let in lightly for today’s Try Unibet's New Improved Acca Boosts Nursery Handicap at Kempton.

Trained by Charlie Johnston, Urgent Call has been given a mark of 73 by the handicapper following three promising runs in maiden company. A son of the late Wootton Bassett, his dam Oodnadatta was a decent racemare in her own right for Jessica Harrington, finishing third in the Moyglare at two.

She is closely related to the likes of Pablo Escobarr and Roberto Esco-barr, both very useful William Hag-gas-trained stayers, so next season Urgent Call will no doubt want a trip. On his first run over a mile last time out he performed a bit better, not surprisingly, and now in handicap company there might be more to come.
