It's all a blur for sorry Chelsea in high-noon crunch match as Newcastle keep going to the end

United's match DJ had some fun with a full-time Chelsea taunt following the crucial victory over the Blues.
-
As the final whistle sounded, Blur’s Parklife blared out around the stadium in a thinly veiled dig at the visitors and Chelsea fans Damon Albarn and Phil Daniels.
The travelling fans had long since turned bitter in the second half with chants of “no noise from the Saudi boys” on a day that felt like Newcastle were making another big move to catch up with their illustrious Premier League rivals.
However, despite a great start to the contest, Toon fans had to endure a nail-biting finish, having to wait until stoppage time until the win was sealed. But the final outcome sees Newcastle move up to third place, and they can seal a Champions League spot next weekend by beating Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Chelsea won a corner in the first minute, but any attempt to puncture the bouncing atmosphere fell flat. And within seconds the explosion of black and white masses was ignited further in this high-noon showdown.Dit verhaal komt uit de May 12, 2025-editie van The Chronicle.
